The Product Ratings program allows you to display aggregated reviews for your products on Google Shopping. Product ratings are shown in both Shopping ads and free product listings.

In this article, we will guide you through the process to get your Judge.me reviews to appear on Google Shopping.

Google's requirements

Google has strict guidelines regarding reviews. The essential requirements are:

  • You have at least 50 product reviews from actual customers.
  • You include all your reviews, even the ones with low ratings.
  • Your reviews must not violate copyrights, be offensive, or spammy.
  • No personal information of the reviewer is shown in the review (full names, email addresses, phone numbers,...)

There are strict consequences for violating these terms, including being banned from Google so we will automatically include all Published and Hidden reviews while excluding AliExpress imported reviews and Archived reviews from the reviews feed.

Reviews and ratings may not always show. Google will display the ratings when the system determines that the information is accurate and relevant to customers’ needs.

Unique product identifiers

Ratings and reviews are matched to products based on a number of factors, the strongest being globally unique product identifiers such as GTINs.

Without GTIN, Google will match a review through other information such as

  • SKU,
  • Brand + MPN pairs,
  • and product URLs.

However, these identifiers do not offer as good a match as GTINs. Without GTINs Google may not be able to match all of your reviews to products.

Display your products and reviews on Google Shopping

Step 1: Sign up for Google Merchant Center

If you have a Google account (like Gmail), go to Merchant Center and sign in with your Google account to get started and add the required information.

Step 2: Upload your products feed

You can create and upload a product manually by following Google's instructions or through a third-party app such as:

It will take roughly 10 business days for Google to approve your products.

Step 3: Sign up for Product Ratings

  • Fill in the Product Ratings Interest Form.
  • In the first question: "Do you work with an approved third-party reviews aggregator?", please choose No.
  • For the rest of the questions, please choose the most suitable answers for your business.

Step 4: Confirm Judge.me as your third-party reviews aggregator

A few days after you submit the form, you will receive an email from Google saying:

Your aggregator, 'Judge.me', isn’t part of the Product Ratings program yet, so they won’t be able to submit a direct feed for you. Instead, you’ll need to send a direct product ratings feed to Google Merchant Center.

Please let us know if you would like to send a direct Product Ratings feed by replying to this email.

Not to worry! It means that Judge.me is in the process of becoming an approved product ratings partner. Please reply to Google and let them know that you will submit a direct product ratings feed to your Merchant Center.

If everything is okay, Google will follow up with you, and the Product Reviews tab will be available in your Merchant Center.

Step 5: Generate the reviews feed in Judge.me

  • In your Judge.me admin, go to Settings > Advanced > Google Product Review Feed to enable the review feed.
  • You can make changes to the other review feed settings, then click Save.

Step 6: Upload your reviews feed

  • In your Merchant Center account, click Marketing in the left menu.
  • In the Product reviews tab, click Product reviews feeds on the top right corner.
  • Click the plus button  on the “Feeds” page.

1. Name and input method

  • Give your feed a name. Only you'll see this.
  • Choose Scheduled fetch and click Continue.

2. Setup

  • Copy the file name and file URL from Settings > Advanced > Google Product Review Feed > Review Feed Installation Info and paste them into the required fields.

  • Select Fetch frequency as Daily.
  • For Fetch time and Time zone, you can keep the default value.
  • You can skip the username and password.
  • Click Create feed.

Step 7: Follow up with Google

The status of your reviews feed will now be inactive. Google will manually review the feed, which can take 2 to 4 weeks.

In the review process, a Google Shopping agent may reach out to you to enquire about these common topics regarding your reviews. Make sure to check your inbox and reply to Google timely.

Step 8: Troubleshoot the issues

If everything is clear, Google will confirm with you via email that your reviews feed has been accepted.

I am happy to inform you that the Google Product Ratings feed for the store "{{your domain}}" has been successfully integrated into our system. Attached are the screenshots of some of your reviews currently live online on Google Shopping pages.

After the reviews feed is accepted, the status should be live. If the status did not change to live a few days after receiving the confirmation email, you should contact Google for further details.

You will also see the status of your reviews, including the ones that are not qualified to show in Google Shopping yet. You can check out our troubleshooting guide to get more of your reviews to be qualified.

It might take 2 to 6 weeks for this whole process to complete. If all the information matches between Judge.me reviews feed and your product feed, your star ratings and reviews should now appear.

If they still don't, please contact Google Shopping support to get more information on what is causing the issue. Once you have an answer from Google, let us know and we'll advise further.
